My Life as a Writer

There’s a quote by Toni Morrison that says…

If there’s a book that you want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.

So that’s what I did.

I wrote my first book back in 2005. It’s all about magic and princesses, and it’s a part of a majestic series. Did I ever get to finish it? Yes, I finished it and the second book. Where were those now? Hidden beneath all of my old stuffs. You see, I grew up. And through that stage of growing up, I also learned a lot of things especially with my writing.

To the younger me, stories were all about princesses falling in love to prince charmings and having happy endings.

To the older me, stories were not all about them anymore.

So as time went on, my characters had evolved as well. I hoped they did.

Around 2008, my first ever novel was written, and it’s based on true to life events. It took almost two years before I finished it. Where was it? It’s hidden together with my princesses stories. Would I ever show it to anyone? I decided that it be best to keep it hidden.

So fast forward, March 2012, I discovered Wattpad through a friend and it became bigger from there.

To be honest, I don’t have that huge following yet. But the amount of support I’m getting is enough to keep me writing. I received fan mails, telling me that I’ve inspired them. I received the nicest words about my writing and my stories. I was told that I’m a great writer. Would I let the small number stop me from doing what I love? Of course not. The reason I’m still writing is because there are people supporting me.

I always, always make sure that I thank each and every one of them, letting them know that wherever I am is because they are behind me through all that.

From this personal blog to my wattpad page to my self-published stories, my life as a writer has been more exciting. I won’t ask for anything else.

For the next years to come, I’ll keep on inspiring.
